Every year, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago runs a summer internship program for local students who are captivated by Jewish community building and are interested in developing their own professional portfolio. The students who are selected to participate after a highly competitive application process are assigned to work with agencies and organizations affiliated with JUF. As we did last year, the Jewish Community Council of West Rogers Park was partnered with a Lewis summer intern.
I would like to introduce you all to Matthew Erlebacher. Matthew is a Junior at Carnegie Mellon University, and is majoring in Decision Sciences. Last summer he interned in the office of Commissioner Richard Boykin through the Simon Wiesenthal Center. He is currently interning with us in order to have a better understanding of community organizing. As Matthew embarks in conversations to learn more about the neighborhood, I'd ask that you email him if you can spend 30 minutes to meet. He can be reached at email@example.com
Finally, please mark your calendars to attend the annual neighborhod health and safety fair sponsored by the Chicago Center for Torah and Chesed. This important event is taking place THIS Sunday, July 8 from 1 to 5pm.
