I recently returned from a 12 day visit to Israel as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing the Midwest as one of 29 "Young Jewish Leaders" from 29 countries participating in an intensive diplomatic and bridge building seminar.During our hectic schedule, we met with politicians and diplomats from the Israeli and Palestinian communities, explored arts and culture, visited innovative business institutions, discovered new trends in healthcare and of course spent a great deal of time networking with my fellow participants.Being a representative from one of Chicago's most diverse neighborhoods, I was able to share many examples with colleagues about our innovative ways to collaborate and be a force for positive change in our community.
It is an honor to be a part of this cohort, including Jewish leaders from India, New Zealand, Poland, Estonia and so many other countries. The most important lesson was identifying ways to build bridges and find partnerships with everyone I interacted with. Enjoy this picture that I took with some of my new friends. Looking forward to bringing many new skills, ideas and opportunities to our work in West Rogers Park.
